Pelophylax ye un chenero d'anfibio anuro d'a familia Ranidae. Fue descrito por Leopold Fitzinger en 1843. Pelophylax abarca as ranas tipicas verdes acuaticas. Distribución O suyo mapa de distribución abarca dende o norte d'Africa, Eritrea y Europa temperata dica Orient Meyo, Rusia y Afganistán dica o sud de o extremo oriental ruso. De China a Corea, Chapón, Taiwán, Cambocha, Laos, Vietnam, oeste y norte de Tailandia, norte de Birmania y nord-este d'a India. Bi ha poblacions anisolatas en o Alto Asir y en oasi en o este d'Arabia Saudita y Bahrein. Ye introducito en as Canarias.

Sinonimia Palmirana Ritgen, 1828. Nomen nudum Baliopygus Schultze, 1891. Prenendo como especie tipo Rana ridibunda Pallas, 1771, fue descrito por Max Schultze, 48 anyadas dimpués de Fitzinger.
