Biografía Nacíu en Viena, Austria, Lehrman emigró a temprana edá a los Estaos Xuníos y, anque sobre manera ye recordáu como direutor, empezó la so carrera como actor nuna producción de 1909 de Biograph Studios dirixida por D.W. Griffith. Ganóse'l llamatu de "Pathé" pos diría que trabayara n'Europa pa la empresa francesa Pathé. Cuando Sennett dexó l'estudiu pa crear la so propia compañía, Keystone Studios, Henry Lehrman xunir a él, trabayando como actor, guionista y direutor, siendo'l primeru en dirixir a Charlie Chaplin.

En 1915 Lehrman fundó una compañía propia, L-KO Kompany, cola que produció comedies de dos rollos pa Universal Studios. Lehrman yera conocíu pola so poca estima escontra los actores y el so deséu d'asitialos en situaciones de peligru, lo que-y valió'l llamatu de "Mr. Suicide." L'autor Kalton C. Lahue afirmaba que los extras y actores de repartu realmente refugaben les llamaes de L-KO.

Lehrman dexó d'actuar en 1916 pa dedicase a la direición y a la producción. En 1917 dexó L-KO Kompany y pasó a Fox Film Corporation como productor de la unidá de "Sunshine Comedies". Lehrman conoció en 1920 a una nueva actriz llamada Virginia Rappe, cola que tuvo una rellación sentimental. Sicasí, en setiembre de 1921, Rappe, de 30 años, finó en participando nuna fiesta privada que'l so anfitrión yera Roscoe Arbuckle, y que se celebró nun hotel de San Francisco. Arbuckle foi acusáu de violación y asesinatu, y Lehrman utilizó'l xuiciu pa la so propia publicidá personal. Finalmente Arbuckle foi consideráu non culpable.

Nos dos años posteriores a la muerte de la so compañera, Henry Lehrman tuvo práuticamente inactivu nel negociu del cine, y en 1922 casóse con Jocelyn Leigh, cola que tuvo un curtiu matrimoniu. En 1924 aceptó una ufierta de Fox Film Corporation pa volver dirixir la so unidá de "Sunshine Comedies", siguiendo con ésitu na direición hasta l'empiezu del cine sonoru a finales de los años 1920. Él dirixó dos filmes sonoros pa Fox en 1929, unu d'ellos un curtiu cómicu, y otru un llargumetraxe tituláu "New Year's Eve", protagonizáu por Mary Astor. Les cintes demostraron la dificultá de Lehrman p'afaese a la direición con soníu, polo que Fox prescindió de los sos servicios. Dos años más tarde fixo'l so últimu intentu nel cine sonoru, escribiendo y dirixendo un curtiu cómicu pa Universal Studios.

Henry Lehrman finó por causa de un infartu agudu de miocardiu en Hollywood, California, en 1946, y foi enterráu nel Campusantu Hollywood Forever xunto a Virginia Rappe. Tenía 60 años d'edá.
