Brachygobius és un gènere de peixos de la família dels gòbids i de l'ordre dels perciformes.The Taxonomicon
Morfologia Fan entre 1,5-4 cm de mida. En general, són de color negre amb bandes de color entre groc clar i carabassa. Els mascles acostumen a ésser més esvelts que les femelles i sovint tenen colors més llampants (generalment de color carabassa en comptes de groc). Les femelles poden tindre el cap més petit i rodó.
