87ª edición dos Óscar

A 87ª edición dos Óscar, presentada pola Academia das Artes e das Ciencias Cinematográficas (AMPAS), galardoou os mellores filmes de 2014 dos Estados Unidos de América e celebrouse o 22 de febreiro de 2015 no Dolby Theatre en Hollywood, California. Durante a cerimonia, a Academia das Artes e das Ciencias Cinematográficas presentou os Premios da Academia (comunmente coñecidos como Oscars) en 24 categorías. O evento foi televisado nos Estados Unidos pola canle ABC, e foi producido por Neil Meron e Craig Zadan e dirixido por Hamish Hamilton. O actor Neil Patrick Harris foi o presentador da gala por primeira vez.

Por outra banda, a Academia celebrou a 6ª cerimonia anual dos Premios Gobernador no Grand Ballroom de Hollywood and Highland Center o 8 de novembro de 2014. O 7 de febreiro de 2015, nunha cerimonia no The Beverly Hills Hotel en Beverly Hills (California), foron presentados os Premios da Academia ó Logro Técnico por Margot Robbie e Miles Teller.

Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) e The Grand Budapest Hotel foron os que máis premios gañaron, con cadanseus catro galardóns. Birdman gañou o mellor director, mellor filme e mellor guión orixinal para Alejandro González Iñárritu, mentres que The Grand Budapest Hotel gañou mellor banda sonora para Alexandre Desplat. Outros gañadores foron Whiplash con tres premios como mellor actor secundario para J. K. Simmons, e The Theory of Everything, Still Alice, Boyhood, The Imitation Game, Big Hero 6, Ida, Citizenfour, Crisis Hotline: Veterans Press 1, The Phone Call, Feast, Selma, O francotirador e Interstellar cun premio cada un.
