A hangyabogáncs (Jurinea) a fészkesvirágzatúak (Asterales) rendjébe, ezen belül az őszirózsafélék (Asteraceae) családjába tartozó nemzetség.
Előfordulásuk A hangyabogáncsfajok előfordulási területe Európában, Ázsiában és Afrika északnyugati részén található meg.
