Thelacantha brevispina () è un ragno appartenente alla famiglia Araneidae.
È l'unica specie nota del genere Thelacantha .
Etimologia Il nome deriva dal greco , thèlys, cioè femmina, femminile e dal greco , àkantha, cioè spina, punta, a voler sottolineare le numerose spine che costellano l'opistosoma delle femmine di questa specie.
Distribuzione La specie è stata rinvenuta nella zona compresa fra l'India e le Filippine, in Madagascar e in Australia.
Tassonomia Dal 2013 non sono stati esaminati altri esemplari, né sono state descritte sottospecie al 2014.
