Nota: l'RPM Racing Team, situato in Macao, aveva previsto di far gareggiare una Toyota Altezza e una Honda Civic Type-R ai piloti Lei Kit Meng e Jo Rosa-Merszei nella gara finale di Macao. I numeri erano anche già stati assegnati ("64" per Meng (Toyota Altezza) e "65" per Rosa-Merszei (Honda Civic)) quando il FIA Touring Car Bureau ha negato ufficialmente queste "wild cards" annotando che nessuna delle due auto era stata omologata dalla FIA .
Calendario Un primo calendario provvisorio venne presentato dalla FIA nel novembre del 2007.. La Svezia era inclusa nel calendario già dal 21 settembre di quello stesso anno, ma il 3 maggio del 2008 la FIA ha comunicato che il GP di Svezia veniva cancellato in favore di un secondo evento in Italia (al circuito di Imola).
