Biografia Nato nell'Indiana nel 1870, lavorò nel cinema soprattutto come regista ma anche come sceneggiatore, attore e produttore. Nella sua carriera si contano quasi un centinaio di regie.
Morì a Onarga, nell'Illinois, a settant'anni, il 15 giugno 1940.
