Fim da série policial Lieutenant Doyle, estrelada por Bill Elliott, que teve apenas 4 filmes. Duas produções se destacam em meio a muitos filmes B: Love in the Afternoon, comédia dramática com elementos de filme policial, estrelada por Gary Cooper e Audrey Hepburn, sob a direção de Billy Wilder; e The Hunchback of Notre Dame, nova adaptação do romance clássico de Victor Hugo, com Anthony Quinn e Gina Lollobrigida no comando do elenco.
