A Gonialoe az egyszikűek (Liliopsida) osztályának spárgavirágúak (Asparagales) rendjébe, ezen belül a fűfafélék (Asphodelaceae) családjába tartozó nemzetség.
Előfordulásuk A Gonialoe-fajok előfordulási területe Angola, Namíbia és a Dél-afrikai Köztársaság.
